DAY 4
Tracy Arm Fjord ⚓︎ Juneau
Tracy Arm Fjord - The Majestic Glacial Wonders of Alaska
Glacier Viewing 6:00 AM ~ 10:30 AM
Tracy Arm Fjord stretches over 30 miles, bordering the Tongass National Forest. Sailing through this deep, narrow waterway offers some of the most breathtaking and magnificent views of Alaska. We will see active glaciers nestled between towering 7,000-foot peaks, with spectacular waterfalls cascading down cliffs covered in evergreen trees. Along the way, there will also be opportunities to encounter local wildlife and admire the blue icebergs floating beside the ship, immersing yourself in this pristine and untouched natural wonder. At the fjord's end, you'll encounter the twin Sawyer Glaciers. These awe-inspiring tidal glaciers span half a mile in width, with massive ice walls that are truly spectacular. When the glaciers calve, you will not only hear the deafening crash but also feel the ground tremble as enormous chunks of ice plunge into the water, creating a magnificent scene that provides an unparalleled experience. The area is a habitat for many wildlife species, offering stunning ecological views. We’ll spot Pigeon Guillemots, Kittiwakes, and Arctic Terns soaring in the sky, while mountain goats leisurely forage on rocky slopes. Newborn seals lie lazily on floating ice, basking in the sunlight. You might also see black bears hunting along the shore or witness a bald eagle soaring across the sky. If you’re lucky, you may even see a whale diving into the water, its spectacular tail fin skimming the surface, adding an element of surprise to this magical journey!
